Sherri

Animals have always been at the heart of Sherri's life and career. Raised among Thoroughbreds, she developed a deep passion for equine veterinary medicine, which led her to assist with embryo transfers in Standardbreds. During this time, Sherri also cared for thoroughbred stallions and broodmares while assisting with foaling and working closely with veterinarians to ensure the health and success of equine athletes. 

Sherri's curiosity for healthcare eventually expanded to human medicine, leading her back to school, where she became a registered and licensed healthcare professional. For over 12 years, Sherri owned and operated her healthcare clinic, collaborating with various medical professionals and supporting an extensive patient base. During this time, in 2016, she also launched a health-focused restaurant in Elora, Ontario, blending her love for wellness with entrepreneurship. A portion of the restaurant’s proceeds went toward supporting local animal sanctuaries, allowing Sherri to combine her passion for holistic health with her dedication to animal welfare.

In 2020 Sherri transitioned her practice to virtual patient care, but ultimately, she chose to step away from clinical practice while maintaining her professional memberships. Now, she is excited to bring her experience in healthcare, business management, and animal care to Abbey Animal Hospital.

Outside of work, you’ll find Sherri exploring the deep forest she calls home with her beloved furbaby, Stella, a majestic Presa Canario who keeps life exciting! Surrounded by nature, Sherri embraces a peaceful, outdoor lifestyle and cherishes the connection it brings to both animals and the land.
